It's hw dependency. Nothing to do via sw to add this functionality.
If you remember how the rear connections of the HU are, you'll see only one input antenna connection and one adapter in the box to convert the two connection antenna cable to one.
The two connections are for FM diversity, the original headunit will pick the strongest signal between the two antennas.
AF works differently, the radio station provides a list of other frequencies via RDS. The headunit can then retune as you move away from one transmitter towards another. This does not require two antennas and 1000's of headunits use it with just one antenna.
From what I understand, China doesn't use AF which is why it's not included in the firmware. Given there is partial RDS support, the hw might support also AF.
